Aquisition of Waltersperger in March 2010
July 22, 2010
Waltersperger, a 100-year-old master glassmaker located in the Bresle Valley in Upper Normandy, was acquired in March 2010 by Arturo Franco, a former senior executive at Bulgari Perfume and L’Oréal Luxury Products Division. Head of a group of private investors, and convinced of the legitimacy of semi-automatic glassmaking, his objective is to once again conquer the market for special glass formats and obtain a significant share of the market for the giant factice models that accompany product launches.
Waltersperger has positioned itself as the pre-eminent glassware provider for numerous niche and developing brands, offering them full service and support. Such has been the case for 35 years with Annick Goutal. A sales representative will also be exclusively dedicated to spirits (Cognac) and interior decorative objects (candle holders) in order to develop these markets.
Before the end of the year, Waltersperger will re-experiment with crystal production for bottles and carafes, an activity that has been abandoned for the past four years.
